Taipei Tech Club on Friday, here’s the email from Spencer:

Hello there,

We’ll be having a Taipei Tech Club meetup next Friday, April 24th at 7:30pm at KGB on Shi Da Road.

KGB is a fairly new joint in town and stands for “Kiwi Gourmet Burger”.  They’ve got a unique selection of genuine New Zealand beef burgers, chicken burgers, veg burgers as well as imported beer from NZ and AU.

To read more about KGB, check out this thread on Forumosa.

It’s on Shi Da Road, Lane 114, No. 5 – look out for the red sign that says KGB.  Kindly see the attached map for directions.

A thank you goes to Lars for helping arrange the venue for next week’s meetup.

Look forward to seeing you at KGB for a delicious burger and a nice cold beer next Friday night!

Best regards,

Spencer

I’ll be having dinner with my wife and friends, will have to go next time.

Who do I follow on Twitter and Why

I only have a semi-formalized technique for doing this.

Firstly, I followed some of the big Internet marketers, because I am interested in their stuff and they happen to be on Twitter.

Next, I followed a few people who have sales and marketing related blogs. Their blogs were good, so I followed those authors who have Twitter accounts, and most of them do. I often follow Twitter accounts mentioned by these same marketers.

I also followed a range of Chinese Twitterers after going to a Twitter meetup a while back. Much less of the follow madness with this crowd.

Almost all of the deliberate follows I’ve made recently are from blogs and links to other related blogs, mostly English blogs on Taiwan.

Then, for the constant stream of followers that build up. I check out their Twitter page. No avatar, no follow. Backgrounds with big $$$, or make money scheme, no follow. Only very old tweets, older than 1 month, no follow. Otherwise I decide on if the most recent tweets are interesting.

Drinking with Goats

Well, on Tuesday night after dinner, I went with Ron to some drinks by the “Dream Community” near my house.

Se we were sitting outside, just having a chat and there, from the middle of nowhere comes a goat.

Where did a goat come from?

Perhaps it escaped from a petting zoo in the area.

So the goat thought that it would come over and check us out, but then proceeded to start eating the chairs outside.

My first reaction was to try and stop it. But after looking at the other seven chairs around the table, it was quite clear that this was its snack.

Ron was a little unsure about this wild animal, so changed seats to get a eagle eyes view of the beast, before it could make a snack of him.

Still can’t figure out why it was there. But this is Taiwan. And that’s reason enough I guess.

Passed Out Again

It was a few years ago that I passed out while having blood taken for a health check.

Well, it happened again.

I warned the nurse, she was careful to check for a good vein. Put in the needle, missed the vein, tried again, then tried again without luck. So I asked her to stop so I could take a break.

Then I got up, lent against a wall to have a breather and then had a really wonderful dream until I hit the floor.

I lay down the next time they tried to take it and they got it immediately.

Probably from not having breakfast, which makes me feel a little light headed at the best of times. The doctor says that this just happens to some people and that I shouldn’t worry.

Hmm…

Am I doomed to have this repeated every single year when I have the health check? I really hope not.

Surprise Income from Digital Camera Site

One of the many sites I have is http://best4digitalcameras.com which has reviews of cameras.

It was doing quite poorly with adsense on the site. So I took those out and focused exclusively on affiliate links, as all the products on there are from Tigerdirect. Although there are only 20 something posts, it managed to make $47 for the first 3 weeks of January. And I haven’t updated anything for three months. The commission double after $50, so if it goes over $50, it goes straight to $100.

http://computer-reviews.net doesn’t make this much in a month, but has over 350 posts, although not updated for a very long time.

I stronly suspect that the digital camera site is just a market with more regular buyers, as opposed to the computer market. I also suspect that the keyword list I used for creating the most recent posts on the digital camera site helped a lot. Computer reviews also had a great run in the first few months when I was focusing on keywords with high Wordtracker KEIs.

I will need keyword research for starting the Google adwords campaign later, but the wordtracker subscription is expensive at $329 per year, but so worth it. The monthly option is $59 per month, which is steep. Might just prepare what I need to search for and then sign up for one month as it doesn’t need to be recurring.

Email Autoresponder Series (15 out of 30 done)

I’ve completed half of my target.

Still slow going.

Reviewed the first email to apply the techniques I mentioned in the last post. Quite shocking when looking back at it. Just writing and writing I’m starting to get a better feel of writing those sales letters. Still a long way off, but certainly much better.

These last few will be much harder to come up with ideas.

I’m learning to pick out those things that mean the most to the buyer. All the ideas come form the sales letters that I’ve printed out. I use those to highlight what are the biggest concerns for buyers. Finding what they really want.

Creating a 30 email series from that is not too easy, but enough wining, I should get on with it.
